Our 5th Annual Singing Valentines Fundraiser Was A Noteworthy Success!

It is our great joy to announce that our 2023 Singing Valentines fundraiser – our triumphant return to in-person deliveries following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic – was a noteworthy success! After expenses we raised $1,164 for the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society, our 2nd best Singing Valentines fundraiser to date. Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society provides culturally appropriate programs and inclusive services that meet the needs of urban Indigenous people to improve their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. We had originally selected KAFS as our charity recipient for the 2022 fundraiser, but with constantly changing circumstances around COVID-19 we ultimately had to cancel that year’s Singing Valentines. It greatly pleases us to be able to assist them in the important work they do in the community.

Travelling across Kamloops we made 36 deliveries on Valentine’s Day this year; 11 in Downtown, 6 in Sahali, 5 in Aberdeen, 5 in North Kamloops, 3 in Brocklehurst, 2 in Valleyview, and 1 each in Barnhartvale, Juniper, Westsyde, and the Mt. Paul Industrial Area. It is a distinct privilege and a tremendous pleasure for us to be entrusted with delivering messages of love and caring each year, and being the Grand Return™ to in-person deliveries this year made it all the more special. We share in beautiful moments seeing the full emotional impact of the delivery, telling people they are loved, cherished, respected, and valued. We also enjoy watching people get epically embarrassed, join in on the song and ham it up more than us (yeah, we’re shocked that’s possible too), and all the myriad reactions. And, we’re doing it all for a great cause. We want to thank everyone who supported our fundraiser by ordering a Singing Valentine delivery.

Speaking of saying Thank You, we’d like to thank Newell’s Flowers for always providing us with top-quality and beautiful carnations to give out, our wonderful significant others for being so supportive of us spending 12 hours singing love songs to other people, and of course our respective employers for letting us take the day off to drive all over Kamloops like well-dressed manic cupids.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year! If you would like to suggest a local charity to be the recipient of our 2024 Singing Valentines, please fill out the nomination form. We greatly appreciate the suggestions – it makes it so much easier to compile a list of great options to pick from each year.
